Fall, the best time of the year!
Yes, fall is finally here, with the gorgeous colors, crinkly leaves, and the crisp, smoky smell in the air! The crisp, smoky smell is my favorite part, I love it!
That, and the campfires! I love the campfires at night in summer, and roasting marshmallows, and even hot dogs tasted good over a campfire!
One of my favorite things about fall is the walks on the bike trail nearby, with the leaves falling all around us as we walk, and the crinkly leaves crunching beneath my feet.
And the colors of the trees, as each one of them turn a different shade, creating a gorgeous view!
We even attempted to make pumpkin roll, which taste delicious in fall. We made them, and they were pretty good! Even the one we forgot to put pumpkin in!!!

Now, since the grass is slowing up it's growth rate, the cows will be eating more hay, and spending longer time in the barn, which means we will be cleaning stalls more frequently! And buying hay again, and storing it in our loft.
This is also the time that our cows are bred back again, for summer calves. That is a time our whole family looks forward too, for no baby animal is cuter than a little Hereford calf!
And, we are finally sending our pigs to the butcher now too. It will be doubly nice, no more cleaning smelly pig pens, or smelling them!
And we are looking ahead to Halloween, and our Harvest party that we have every year, and after that, Thanksgiving.
I love Thanksgiving, and I think that even now is a good time to start thinking of the things we are grateful for.
What are you grateful for this year?
"Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift!" 2 Corinthians 9:15
This was very descriptive, and the photos were amazing.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the good comment! I did not take the pictures though, I had to borrow some from clipart to fill in until I could get some good ones of our own beautiful farm! Coming soon!
